In June 2008, 25 children from the Tulkarm Refugee Camp came to NSWAS for an overnight Art workshop. Together with 25 Jewish and Arab children from the Oasis of Peace they played in the village, and drew and painted about 80 pictures on canvas and paper, with guidance from Jewish and Arab artists. Today, some of these paintings are in the United States to be exhibited as a testimony that peace is possible. The Art Exhibit premiered at the “Engaging the Other Conference,” featuring Oasis of Peace’s resident Ahmad Hijazi in San Francisco, September 4-7, 2008. Since then, it tours the US, spreading their message of peace. In the next few months it will appear at New York State and Massachusetts venues. Coming venues: | July 2009 | Chautauqua, NY
